Behind the Sound

- a conversation between the two Sound Designers Craig Henighan and Peter Albrechtsen

Craig Henighan has racked up a formidable list of film credits over the last 18 years, as a sound designer, supervising sound editor, and sound re-recording mixer. The Los Angeles-based Canadian has been working closely with directors like Darren Aronofsky, Ben Stiller, Wes Anderson, Shawn Levy and Joe Carnahan and his most recent credits include Noah, Moonrise Kingdom, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and Snow White and the Huntsman.

At the seminar Craig will be talking with Danish Sound Designer Peter Albrechtsen who graduated from The National Film School of Denmark in 2001 and has since worked on several award winning feature films and documentaries, both domestically and internationally. His latest work is the Danish hip hop feature film Ækte vare/Flow, the US indie doc The Immortalists and the Danish political thriller The Idealist.

Craig and Peter have known each other for several years and will discuss their work, with special focus on Craig’s ongoing collaboration with Darren Aronofsky through films like Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain, Black Swan and Noah. Craig and Peter will also focus on their creative methods, their mutual passion for music and the different work methods in the US and Europe.

The aim is to create a casual, open-minded, inviting and inspiring environment to talk about all aspects of sonic storytelling, inspiration, ambition and collaboration.
