Sound Designer Ann Kroeber gæster Filmskolens Efteruddannelse
The Profound yet Mostly Unconscious Impact of Sound in Movies - the American Sound Designer Ann Kroeber in discussion with Danish Sound Designer Peter Albrechtsen.
The ears can be a short cut to the imagination and even though film is often described as a visual medium, sound is a crucial element of all great moviemaking.
Ann Kroeber knows this as well as anyone. Ann has worked as sound designer,
recordist and sound editor since the late 1970’s. Her partner, collaborator and
late husband, Alan Splet, was considered to be one of the world's greatest
motion picture sound designers. His evocative use of ambient sounds helped
revolutionize the way we experience movies and Ann has maintained the couple's
vast collection of extraordinary sound effects. Her credits are long and include The Black Stallion, Blue Velvet, The Mosquito Coast, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, and Duma. Her effects recordings are in The Lord of the Rings, The Star Wars Trilogy, Gladiator, Wall-E and many more films and games.
