YOUNG PRODUCERS CLUB 2014

Do you work as a young producer in an established company or have you established your own production company recently?
And are you in Cannes during the Film Festival 2014?

Then we would like to invite you to take part in “YOUNG PRODUCERS CLUB, 2014”.

We are Noemi Ferrer, International Producer at The Danish Film Institute and Tina Wagner Sørensen, Head of Post Graduate Training at The National Film School of Denmark. Our Intention is to create a program to strengthen the Nordic Producer’s network and to support international co-production.

It is a 3 days program from May 16th – May 18th where we look into different project and business cases from the Nordic countries. We have invited a number of experienced film professionals in producing, sales, distribution, TV etc. to share their experience with us.
We have room for approx. 25 producers from the Nordic countries. The program will consist of lectures, networking and a case study in Nordic/European co-productions. The program is designed to encourage and strengthen networking among Nordic producers.

The participant’s fee is € 100 and deadline for sending your application is April 2nd.

This invitation is sent to producers in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland and Denmark

We will kindly ask you to apply with name, country, e-mail, cellphone number, years of experience and company credits.

10.15-11.30 Each participant got 3 min. to pitch themselves and their company. What kind of film do I like to make?

11.30-12.00 Masterplan Pictures
2 Danish producers, who graduated last summer, established a company a month later and brought a group of young talented directors into the company. We have asked them to talk about the risk and their fear by creating a company, what film would they like to make and what kind of directors would they like to work with?

12.00-13.00 Tine Klint CEO – Managing Director, LevelK

We have invited representatives from The Norwegian Film Institute, The Swedish Film Institute, The Finnish Film Foundation, Icelandic Film Centre, The Danish Film Institute, Nordic Film and TV Fond, the Nordic Creative Europe MEDIA desks and Danish Producers Association. We will ask both them and the producers to present themselves to each other.

14.30-15.30 Roberto Olla, Executive Director of Eurimages
We have asked Roberto to talk about Eurimages potential for Nordic producers.

16.00-17.30 Chips & drinks
Get together for Nordic and German producers. Chips and drinks are kindly sponsored by the Nordic Creative Europe MEDIA desks.

Saturday May 17th

11.00-12.00 Baltazar Kormákur, Director and Producer from Iceland
We have asked Baltazar to talk about the double role as producer and directors and about co-production TBC.

We have invited a list of recognized professionals in financing, producing, distribution and sale.

14.00-15.00 Creative Europe
We walk to Creative Europe stand where the Nordic Creative Europe MEDIA representatives will welcome you to a talk about Creative Europe MEDIA initiative relevant for young producer.

15.30-16.30 Jeremy Thomas, British Producer
Talks about producing on big scales. He has produced film like The Last Emperor/ Bernardo Bertolucci, Naked Lunch/ David Cronenberg, A Dangerous Method/ David Cronenbeg and Kon-Tiki/ Joachim Rønning, Espen Sandberg just to mention a few.

17.30-19.30 Drinks and snack at the Danish Producers Association
 

Sunday May 18th
10.00-11.00 Hanne Palmqvist, SVT
Talks about producing TV-Drama. Plans and focus for the future.

11.00-12.00 Bo Ehrhardt, Nimbus Film
Talks about collaboration and producing the very successful TV-Drama series BROEN. How to distribute the cooperation in the co-production around finance, script, casting, choice of director etc. and are there any changes in the distribution after season one?   

12.00-13.00 Lunch and introduction to the production case

13.00-15.30 Case-study
We divide you into smaller groups. Each group will get an international co-production case and a mentor. Noemi Ferrer; Katrin Mersmann, Schwerpunkt: Doku, Skandinavische Koproduktion, Verleih & Abspiel; Adam Partridge, Production and Special Project Manager at Film Agency for Wales and Frank Peijnenburg, CFO at the Netherlands Film Fund.
